The raffle drawing has happened, we had a big crowed and sold many tickets at the event. Everyone will have two weeks from Monday, February 1st to claim their prize. Any unclaimed prizes will have new tickets drawn in two weeks. Prizes can be claimed by contacting me at d_mcquoid@hotmail.com or via my cell; 530-526-1700. If the drawn ticket owner was at the event I have listed by name, and not-present ticket winners will be listed by number and need to email or call.

$4,186 was raised last night in Ashland, Oregon, combined with $2,232 in online donations: $6,418 to help Matt Thomas recover!

Today marks the official end of online sales of raffle tickets. The good news is you can still buy tickets at the event before the raffle.

On top of all the great prizes that have already been listed, several more have been donated.

The Sportsgrants Foundation is donating a new, never used Jackson Rocker creek boat. Be sure to check out the really cool work this great organization is doing.

The Pomodoro Restaurante in Ashland has donated two gift certificates for $50 each. Thanks for the support!

A Flyfishing Rod from Loon Outdoors, thanks to Russ Miller for making the connection.

It's been great to see such a wide variety of people get involved, thanks to everyone for their generous support and stay tuned for the drawing results, which should be up by February 1st.

It's on! In true Matt Thomas style the drawing will be held in a fun party atmosphere at the Caldera Tap House in Ashland, Oregon. Live music and door prizes oh my! I am sure we'll be tying one on and will try to have a live video feed going too, but no promises on finding someone to pull off the technical details. Drawing results will be posted online and participants will have two weeks to claim their prizes via emailing me at d_mcquoid@hotmail.com. Attendees can still purchase in person before the drawing. We're looking forward to seeing everyone there!

10/12/09 Update: The raffle is going great, we've sold a lot of tickets but still have more to sell. New prizes thanks to River Roots!

On the morning of July 9th, 2009, Matt Thomas overshot a jump while mountain biking in Southern Oregon and dislocated his C6 and C7 vertebrae. When he woke up from the accident he was paralyzed from the chest down. Matt had emergency surgery in Medford Oregon, where he is currently recovering.

Besides being an active outdoorsman, Matt worked as a civil engineer and was recently laid off, and had no insurance when the accident happened. Enjoy the possibility of winning some of the finest paddling gear available. While you are at it consider making a donation to help Matt's recovery.

The raffle drawing will take place on Tuesday, December 15th.
